SLJ, Off the menu- Day 5, Activity 1

I think the rule about overfishing should stay in place because if you are caught overfishing you are breaking a rule that has been put in place to protect things that in this case are the fish.

  1. Hi Zac

I agree with you. The rule was put there to protect the overfishing in the first place. If we want to have fish left in the rivers at all then they need to abide by the rules.
I think the fine should be high to, as you want to discourage people from breaking the rules. If they fish there and get caught then they should pay for it. It might make them think twice about doing it again.
Do you like to go fishing? I am sure there are some good spots up the valley where you live!
I don't go fishing but I really like to eat fish. My sister and her husband have just been in Okiwi Bay fishing for a week with their boat. They gave us some blue cod to have. It was so yummy!

Well done Zac, keep up the good work.

    Until next time

    Allie :)

  2. Hello Allie,

Yes I do like to go fishing, we just went for a holiday to Lake Brunner and we went fishing a bit, but we all we caught was a tiny crayfish in a little creek. We just got back today.

    From Zac :)
