SLJ, Carbon Sinks Don’t Stink!- Day 2, Activity 2

Foods that I would put in my sink-

  • Broccoli
  • Fish
  • Soup
  • Rockmelon
  • Raspberries

These are all foods that I really don't like.

  1. Kia Ora Zac,

My name is Rachel and I am working with Hazel and Allie on the Summer Learning Journey programme. It is great to see that you are working so hard on the SLJ this year and completing so many activities!

Like you, I would definitely put fish in my sink. I have never been a huge fan of fish, although I am really trying to like it because my family loves it! I grew up in Canada in a town that was quite far from the coast so we didn't have fresh fish and I just didn't grow up eating up. When I moved to New Zealand (NZ) nine years ago I realised that a lot of people eat seafood here in NZ and I had to try and adjust my eating habits. It's pretty hard!

What is it about fish that you don't like? It is the smell, the texture, the flavour (taste) or all three? I also see that you don't like soup. That's really interesting. Do you dislike all soup? I'm not a fan of seafood chowder, I must admit...

I hope that you are having a really nice holiday with your family and eating all of your favourite foods. It's my partner, Andy's birthday tomorrow so I am about to look up some recipes for his birthday dessert. Guess what he wants to eat for dinner?

    Fish (and chips)!

Keep up the great work with your blogging, Zac. We'll pop back in another few days to see if you have had time to add more activities to your blog. We will also be sure to post more comments.

    Bye for now,
    Rachel :)

  2. Hello Rachel,

I don't like anything about fish, the taste, smell, and feel. But I do like fish and chips. Weird!. I don't like any soup.

    From Zac,

P.S, Please tell that I hope he had a great day.

  3. Hi Zac,

Thanks for your very kind birthday wishes. We had a delicious family dinner, complete with fish and chips. It is so funny to read that you like fish and chips but not regular fish on its own. That is quite unusual!

I will be sure to tell Andy that you said hi and wished him a great day. He will be so touched.

    Bye for now,
    Rachel :)
