I do not believe in the Taniwha because there are not much things about it online and also no one can prove that the are real. Also no one really talks about it.
I think that the Taniwha is a bit of a myth and legend. I have read many stories about them in the school library but I do think that it is a legend handed down through the generations of tribes and whanau.
It is a bit like the Loch Ness Monster. Have you heard of that? This a mythical monster that they says lives in a loch (lake) in Scotland. No one has ever really seen it other than a few photos of shadows on the lake and stories that people tell.
Maybe you could check out your school library and see if you can read a myth and legend about the Taniwha.
